Sexual Abuse and Child Molestation Awareness
By: Sgt. Bill Davis
In 2005, Texas Senate Bill #990 was passed and required that the staff and volunteers of all Texas youth camps attend a Texas Dept. of State Health Services approved program on sexual abuse and child molestation awareness.
Sgt. Bill Davis, a 36-year veteran with the Beaumont, Texas Police Department, with over twenty years experience in investigating 7,000 child abuse and sex crimes investigations, has been approved to present this program with TDSHS approval #YC06-0030.
Sgt. Davis has presented other awareness programs to over 170,000 people throughout Texas, nationally, and internationally.
His 3-4 hour youth camp program discusses how youth camps can be a safe haven for abused or molested children. Sgt. Davis will discuss applicable sex crime laws, the three types of rapists, the three types of pedophiles, and the incestuous family.
He will also discuss procedures that must be followed, as required by law, when a child makes an outcry of being abused. Sgt. Davis’s information gives youth camp staff and volunteers the tools needed to save a child’s life.
A test will be given and a certificate of attendance will be presented upon completion of the program.
